Wood Filler or a Hot Melt Repair System?

Wood paste and hot melt repair system can close the same defect, but it sits differently to the production flow. It can be processed in short time after hot melt filling cooling, while Macun can need chemical or physical drying time. Selection, defect size, serial production tempo, should be done with the final floor and investment approach.

Corporate and cycle time

It can depend on product thickness, ambient temperature and humidity that the mac can be processed. The solidification in the hot melt system is mainly cold; it can be quickly passed to the cutting-action stage with the cooling block. It should be measured in actual cycle field testing, as it can require layer filling and controlled cooling in multi-volume defects.

Surface and final floor behavior

Macun and hot melt material can absorb paint or oil in the same way as wood. The color match can be different on the last floor even if it appears correctly in the dry sample. It also changes stretching, pulling and sanding hardness. Therefore, the comparison should be done after the completion of the actual varnish, oil or paint system used in production, not on the naked filler.

Equipment and operator effect

Macun can be applied with low equipment investment; mixing, cap life, spatula cleaning and waiting area may require. Hot melt system electric aplicator wants proper bar and safe hot operation instruction; it can offer corresponding dosing and quick processing advantage. Training and ergonomics are part of the total method.

Total process cost

Not alone kilogram price to compare; add material, operator duration, waiting area, reprocessing, sand consumption and in-line stock per defect. Do pilot study at least two defect classes with the same admission criteria. The result should show the cost of the product price for very finished acceptable parts.

Application control list

  • Graduate defects according to size and depth.
  • Measure the actual cycle time of two methods.
  • Compare finalized samples.
  • Save operator, sander and reprocessing time.
  • Calculate total cost per acceptable piece.

Conclusion

Hot melt repair can be strong in series and quick processing; the paste can fit in certain small volume or special surface work. The decision should be based on actual defect and finished surface testing.

Manstechnic approach

Manstechnic compares method selection from material consumption to cycle time and finished surface quality.
